Manchester United Women’s team boss Marc Skinner has signed a one-year contract extension with the option of a further 12 months.

The 41-year-old succeeded Casey Stone at United in the summer of 2021 and hasn’t been the most popular, despite delivering the club’s first major trophy at Wembley last weekend when the women’s team won the FA Cup after thrashing Tottenham Hotspur in the final.

I caught up with Barmy Article editor Andy Slator to discuss the FA Cup win as well as Skinner’s future, which has now been solved with him earning a short-term deal, as per Man Utd.com.

United are currently fifth in the WSL table and Skinner has faced some criticism, but news of his extension means INEOS do not plan on changing managers anytime soon.

They may change their mind if an outstanding candidate emerges, and the same could be said for the men’s team with Erik ten Hag’s future up in the air.

Congratulations to Skinner on his new deal.
